Hello all, I've just about visited every forum and thread on most obvious websites, and none were able to help diagnose my issue. If you can please help with advice, that would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Specs: p hz Dell Monitor Superclocked ik 4. PaulCampbell7 New Member. So the actual gameplay is working fine, right?

Have you ever been able to get stable recordings or has this been an issue since the very first time you used OBS?

Gameplay doesn't feel smooth even at 60fps

Do me a favor and either change your output resolution to match your base resolution in the recording, or if your setup can't handle recording attemporarily change your monitors resolution to p and record at p.

Also, are you recording directly to. I've heard people have had issues with that. Try recording to a different format and see if that changes anything.Forums New posts Search forums. I recently got a hz monitor and decided to try out streaming again. The video on top is really choppy but when i go check the stream playback its not as choppy but definitely feels lower than 60FPS.

I feel as if my settings are good because I get no frame rate issues in-game. Thanks in Advanced. Harold Active Member. Provided log doesn't show a stream attempt. Volfield Member. Update to the latest version of OBS and post a new log with a streaming or recording session, if you're still having issues.

Volfield said:. Watched the video, I don't see any issues with it on my monitor that has higher refresh rate. It's a complaint I have received when streaming as well, that something was "off".

Whether this is placebo or not, I don't know but the minor complaints stopped when I switched to 60FPS capture.Forums New posts Search forums. It seems that somehow, OBS throttles? Disabling preview is the only fix? CPU or GPU usage don't appear to spike or overload due to preview enabled - so it may not be a hardware performance issue, rather something to do with how OBS handles differing monitor refresh rates. CSGO will probably give the best results in tests because it keeps the highest constant FPS for testing with high refresh rates.

It is only when games are in the primary monitor hz and OBS with Preview Enabled is on the secondary monitor 60hz. OBS does not have to be capturing the game or recording, or streaming, It simply just needs to be open with preview enabled. I appreciate OBS teams help and hope there is a solution! The Hz monitor will switch down to 60Hz, when this happens. You could ask in the Microsoft forums, if and when Microsoft will address this issue. Limitations of forced v-sync in DWM. This isn't limited to OBS, playing 60fps YouTube video on a 60Hz monitor have the same effect of slowing down higher refresh rate monitor.

It's and we still don't have proper frame limiting options in PC games. Last edited by lu. Showing 1 - 11 of 11 comments. Gorerotten View Profile View Posts. Can't speak for you but i have turned it off and the game is locked at Hz. I'm using borderless window btw.

I just upgraded to a p hz setup and have found that OBS recordings and probably streams have suddenly become very choppy and stuttery with the exact same settings. Changing the monitor back to p 60hz and turning off g sync seems to do the trick to fix the stuttering, but it makes my entire PC upgrade redundant when I need to do that.

Has anyone had any luck with recording smooth gameplay even with a p hz monitor? I've tried tons of things but nothing seems to work. Maybe OBS just doesnt like p hz.

I'm not sure. O M G I figured it out for everyone! Click apply. THEN go to your display settings i. I've found this will eliminate almost all major stutters when wanting to play your game at a higher framerate i.

The only other solution is to drop your monitor down to 60, which isnt ideal. With my workaround, you do get a fps video file, so when you drop that file into your video editor and export at 60fps for instance, it's then very very smooth! Streaming is also fine when the fps is set at Just use NVENC and it will automatically scale down to 60fps while also giving you p stream options :.

Baltho82 New Member. I feel the only solution of this problem if someone really wanna play hz and record 60fps is dual pc setup. Zidakuh Member. Actually, setting your monitor toand recording at 60 should work just fine as well. Erick Smith Member.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts.

It seems simple and I toyed with ever other setting on the message boards but always had input lag. I even tried windowed borderless at hz and the framerate was low so I assumed that windowed borderless wasnt the key but when you set monitor to 60hz then it fixes it. Hope it works for you. Could someone explain to me the benefits of G-Sync when your game is locked at 60 and can output more than 60 without effort? Ankarin View Profile View Posts. Originally posted by Zyrconia :. Hey, I know im really late on this I have a hz g-sync monitor and have tried the above settings, my only issue is that it does not lock my game fps to I have a nvidia card and its going over the 60 fps mark.

Not sure what to do as there is nothing else online. Hopefully somebody remembers a way to help me. Originally posted by Thicc Noot :. Last edited by Applesmacked tiHype ; 15 Oct, pm. Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 14 Nov, pm. Posts: 8. Discussions Rules and Guidelines.
